SIMPSON RESULTS ♦ BETHEL RESULTS
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - The Lady Jackets wrapped up their spring break with a pair of non-conference victories. CU knocked off Simpson (Iowa), 7-2, and then took care of Bethel (Tenn.) by an 8-1 count.
Cedarville led 2-1 after doubles against Simpson with #1
Brooke Johnson and
Joy Dice leading the way, 8-4.
Courtney Heydt and
Emma Rahn had an 8-3 win at the #3 spot.
In singles, the Jackets received straight-set wins by #1
Lily Schuler (6-0, 6-1), #5
Maryssa Herbert (6-1, 6-1), and #6
Lyndsay Stine (6-3, 6-1). Going the distance for points were #2 Dice (6-2, 2-6, 10-7) and #3 Heydt (4-6, 6-3, 10-3).
CU had a relatively easier time with shorthanded Bethel. The Jackets earned forfeit victories at #3 doubles and #6 singles.
Heydt and Rahn picked up another doubles point at the #2 spot (8-2). Schuler needed three sets to win at the top singles position, 4-6, 6-2, 10-6.
Straight victories were achieved by #2 Heydt, #3 Herbert, #4
Emily Paul, and #5
Jessie Finfrock.
The Lady Jackets return to Ohio with a 9-5 record.
