Box Score CANTON, Ohio - A superb beginning ultimately fizzled out for the Lady Jackets as they absorbed a four-set non-conference reversal at Malone.
The host Pioneers won it by scores of 28-26, 25-20, 25-27, 25-17.
The tone was established in the opening set. CU bolted to a sizable lead, but watched as Malone rallied to win it.
"We started the match out great in the first set only to surrender a 16-9 lead," explained Head Coach
Doug Walters. "That set us up for the same mental battle that we have not been able to fully overcome yet this year.
"We are still searching for that leader on the court that is going to help this team overcome those situations. It will come eventually."
Lori Inkrott totaled 12 kills and 17 digs for the Lady Jackets, who fall to 2-8.
Hannah Wagner added 11 kills.
Amanda Bell contributed eight kills and 18 digs.
Maddie Anderson tallied 19 assists,
Kristin Cardwell had 17, and
Angela Becker came up with 20 digs.
Cedarville will attempt to halt its seven-match slide against either Columbus State or Eckerd on Friday at the Saint Leo Classic in Florida.
