Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The home court is just what the Lady Jackets needed. Cedarville brushed aside Urbana in three sets before a crowd of 885 fans in the first match in the Callan Athletic Center this season.
Cedarville was in control from the outset. The winning numbers were 25-16, 25-7, 25-16 as the Jackets improved their record to 4-11 overall.
"I thought we played really well," said Head Coach
Doug Walters. "It was nice to be able to come home and have a great crowd on free t-shirt night."
Amanda Bell and
Abby Shelton paced the attack with nine kills apiece.
Hannah Wagner totaled four kills and six blocks while
Tori Thompson also turned aside six blocks.
Maddie Anderson was good for 17 assists and three service aces.
Kristin Cardwell served up three aces and
Angela Becker racked up 16 digs.
"Our schedule has been tremendous because we've been playing Top 50 teams almost all of the first three weeks," Walters stated. "We knew that would help prepare us for the rest of the season."
Cedarville has the next 10 days off. The Lady Jackets return to action on Oct. 4-5 at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Crossover in Mason, Ohio.
