First win for Faro as Jackets roll

Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets provided Interim Head Coach Brett Faro with his first victory as they shut down their oldest of longtime rivals.

Cedarville blanked Malone, 4-0, in what was the 50th meeting on the pitch between the two schools.

Timmy Waller netted what was the eventual game winner in the 12th minute. He received the ball at the corner of the box, eluded two defenders, and tucked a low hard shot just inside the near post.

The Pioneers kept it 1-0 until helping the home team with an own goal in the 49th minute.

Zach Harris ripped in a shot from Connor Gilmour in the 58th. Eric Hoober notched his first career goal from Connor Scott in the 77th.

Ethan Dewhurst recorded his second straight shutout despite not having to come up with any saves.

Cedarville, 1-0-1, wraps up its season-opening three-match homestand on Tuesday against Walsh at 7:00.
