Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Christian Alexander exploded for four goals and Connor Gilmour tacked on three more to lead CU to a convincing 7-2 win at Trevecca to lock down the #1 seed in the upcoming Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Yellow Jackets, 10-4-2 overall and 6-0-1 G-MAC, are the only unbeaten team in the league. They will have a first round bye before hosting the conference semifinals and final on Nov. 6 and 8.

"We played a solid 90 minutes tonight," proclaimed Head Coach Brett Faro. "We were sharp and created a lot of good chances. We were unhappy to give up a couple, but credit Trevecca for playing all the way through.

"I thought it was our best 90-minute game this season. Starters and subs all did what they needed to. It'll be great to be at home for playoffs, but we'd love to take care of Saturday as well. Kentucky Wesleyan can be dangerous for sure."

Gilmour shined in the opening half when he netted all three of his goals to up his league lead to 14. The Trojans scored just before the break to make it 3-1 at the intermission.

The second period belonged to Alexander, who recorded all four of his goals before the half was 12 minutes old. He scored twice in a span of 27 seconds early in the frame and then seven minutes later buried his other two goals just 36 seconds apart.

Alexander now has 10 goals which rates third in the G-MAC. Assists were credited to Gilmour, Paul Messerly, Daniel Rigby, Ethan Shula, and Joel Twinem. Ethan Dewhurst made five saves in goal.

Cedarville finishes G-MAC play on Saturday at Kentucky Wesleyan with kickoff at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
