Box Score OWENSBORO, Ky. - Three second half goals allowed the Yellow Jackets to complete the Great Midwest Athletic Conference schedule with a 3-0 victory at Kentucky Wesleyan.
Cedarville, 11-4-2 overall and 7-0-1 G-MAC, won its last seven conference matches after opening with a dramatic tie.
Joel Twinem's goal in the 59th minute from
Connor Gilmour snapped the scoreless duel.
Connor Scott made it 2-0 just two minutes later with
Christian Alexander assisting.
Chris Anderson sealed the result in the 85th minute.
Daniel Rigby was credited with the assist.
"The guys did a great job today to show patience and discipline to play a full 90 minutes," stated Head Coach
Brett Faro. "Kentucky Wesleyan did a really good job of making it difficult to attack and created some dangerous opportunities on counters.
"We talked at halftime about continuing to create opportunities and to believe in what we could do. I was really pleased with the play this weekend and am excited about where this team is right now heading into the final stretch of the season."
Ethan Dewhurst notched his first shutout of the season. He moved into second place on CU's all-time list for shutouts with 18.
