Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Zachary Harris' strike in the 89th minute gave the Yellow Jackets a 3-2 verdict over Salem International to clinch the top seed in the upcoming G-MAC Tournament.
Two-time defending champion Cedarville, 12-3-1 overall and 9-2 G-MAC, earns a first round bye and will host the conference semifinals and final on Nov. 5 and 7.
It will be the second year in a row and the third time in four years for the Yellow Jackets to serve as host.
The outcome was in jeopardy until Harris, who started CU on its four-game winning streak with a 96th-minute winner at Alderson Broaddus on Oct. 10, rose to the occasion with 1:51 remaining.
Jon Brown tapped a short pass at the top of the box to the senior midfielder, who in turn poked a high shot into the net from 12 yards out. It was his fifth goal of the season and third game winner.
The Yellow Jackets took a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Joel Fullmer finished off a through ball from
Jared Newman in the 6th minute for his first collegiate goal.
Paul Messerly's restart 50 yards out was headed in by the SIU defense for an own goal in the 24th minute.
The Tigers crawled back into the contest with scores in the 35th and 57th minutes which eventually led to Harris' heroics.

"I didn't think we were real sharp, but I believe it was a good opportunity for us to learn how to grind out games. Mentally, we need to be sharper as we head towards the post-season and we will look to do that Saturday against a strong Ohio valley team."
Numbers Game:- The two sides were whistled for 44 total fouls and eight cautions - five for SIU and three for Cedarville.

- Harris has three goals in his last four outings and 15 for his career.
