Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Levi Haight's first career goal near the end of the first overtime gave Cedarville a 4-3 non-conference result over Mercyhurst on Senior Night.
The freshman midfielder settled down
John Schwien's corner kick in the left side of the penalty area, and then placed a 15-yarder into the upper right corner with 29 seconds left in OT.
Cedarville upped its record to 7-6-2 overall in its final regular season home match.
The Yellow Jackets never trailed in the high-scoring affair that got off to a wild start with four goals in the opening 10 minutes.
Sebastian Duque headed in a cross from
Bradley Schluter in the 6th minute with a secondary assist from
Aaron Plummer.
Mercyhurst, 10-4-1, tied it less than two minutes later before Plummer one-timed
Joel Twinem's pass for a 2-1 lead in the 9th. However, the Lakers needed just 44 seconds to equalize.
Twinem set up
Bryce Childers for a 3-2 margin in the 28th minute and it stayed that way until the visitors converted a penalty kick in the 80th ultimately forcing overtime.

Quotable: Head Coach
Brett Faro
"I was happy with a lot of aspects of how we played tonight against a very good Mercyhurst team. Obviously, we never want to allow three goals, but I thought our possession, our patience, and our overall desire to do the little things well on the attacking side of the ball was much improved.
"We are committed to continual improvement within this program and it's great to see us demonstrate that in some areas that we have needed to as we head into an important conference week.
"I thought we showed a lot of resiliency tonight as well. To give up a lead three times and still find a way to win is toughness and we're certainly proud of that"
