CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The No. 4 seed Yellow Jackets play host and top seed Indiana Wesleyan in the NCCAA Midwest Region semifinals on Friday.
Kickoff in Marion, Ind. is slated for 2:30 p.m. EST with live coverage on
Stretch Internet.
Cedarville enters with a 12-7-3 record while the Wildcats are 10-7-2.
That contest follows the noon semifinal featuring No. 2 Houghton (N.Y.), 11-4-4, against No. 3 Grace (Ind.), 8-7-3.
Saturday's final is scheduled for 2:30. The champion earns an automatic bid to the NCCAA Championship in Kissimmee, Fla. on Nov. 28 through Dec. 3.
How did they get here?
The Yellow Jackets edged No. 5 Cincinnati Christian, 1-0, last Saturday at home on a 9th minute goal from
Derek Braak.
Grace blasted No. 6 Lancaster Bible, 7-1, at home. IWU and Houghton both received byes.
Season Series
The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series, 11-7-1, against Indiana Wesleyan. CU holds a 47-26 goal differential.
Cedarville has won the last two meetings - both at home in the Midwest Regional. The Jackets' last visit to IWU was on Nov. 21, 2009 in which the Wildcats won the region final, 1-0.
Last Meeting
The two sides last played on Nov. 16, 2011 at Cedarville when the Jackets defeated IWU, 3-2, in two overtimes in an NCCAA Midwest Region semifinal. Timmy Waller scored the winning goal in the 107th minute.
CU won the region banner three days later at home 4-2 on penalty kicks vs. Grace after playing to a scoreless draw.
