ELKINS, W.Va. - No. 3 seed and three-time defending champion Cedarville squares off with No. 4 Alderson Broaddus on Saturday for the G-MAC Men's Soccer Championship.
Game time at Davis & Elkins College is set for 2:00 p.m. EDT with live coverage on
Stretch Internet.
How did they get here?
The Yellow Jackets, 11-6-3, got to this point with a 4-1 home win over No. 6 Kentucky Wesleyan on Oct. 29 and a 2-1 result against No. 2 Ohio Valley on Thursday.
AB, 10-7-2, blanked No. 5 Trevecca, 2-0, on its home turf on Oct. 24 before eliminating host and top seed Davis & Elkins, 3-1, in the other semifinal.
Last Year
The two sides met in the 2015 final at Cedarville and played to a 1-1 draw. The Jackets ultimately claimed their third straight title via penalty kicks, 4-2.
Season Series
Cedarville won both regular season meetings by identical 2-1 score lines. Two-time G-MAC Player of the Year
Connor Gilmour, now injured, scored both goals at AB on Sept. 15.
Early goals by
Sebastian Duque and
Bryce Childers on Oct. 8 sparked the win at home. That victory started the Jackets on their current nine-game unbeaten streak during which they've gone 7-0-2.
All-Time Series
Cedarville is 7-1-1 all-time against the Battlers. Both blemishes occurred at home in 2015 - a 4-2 setback in the annual Homecoming match and the draw in the conference final.
