Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. - Davis & Elkins' late tally completed a second half comeback in a 3-2 result over Cedarville in a G-MAC men's soccer contest.
The Senators netted the winner in the 84th minute after tying the match five minutes into the second half.
D&E got on the board first by converting a penalty kick in the fifth minute. However, the Jackets quickly grabbed the lead in just a span of 94 seconds.
Mason Hecklinger stole a lazy pass from the Senator defense and ripped a 20-yarder to equalize in the 10th minute.
Alexander Narog made it 2-1 only 1:34 later when he received a D&E clearance and drilled a 25-yard strike.
The match stayed that way until the hosts bounced back in the final 45 minutes.
Davis & Elkins enjoyed a 25-6 shot advantage overall and 10-4 on goal. The Senators also attempted more corner kicks, 5-1.
Stinger Notes:
- Leading scorer Derek Braak, who started the first 12 games of the season, did not play.
- Graham Sachtleben was credited with seven saves in goal.
- It's the only regular season meeting between the two schools.
- Davis & Elkins holds a 6-3-1 lead in the all-time series.
