LAKELAND, Fla. -
Regina Hochstetler scored 26 points and
Ashlyn Huffman added 24 as Cedarville rallied to stun Eckerd, 94-89, in overtime at the Florida Southern Classic.
The Lady Jackets, 9-1 overall and winners of nine straight, needed
Abby Wolford's desperation three-pointer from the left corner at the regulation buzzer to force the extra session.
Huffman's three-point play with 1:02 remaining in overtime gave CU the lead for good, 92-89, and her layup with 20 seconds left sealed the outcome.
The Jackets trailed 64-50 late in the third quarter before going on a 14-point run covering seven-plus minutes to tie it. However, the Tritons pushed the margin back to eight with 2:44 to play.
Baylee Bennett canned a triple with 11 seconds left to cut the difference to one. The Tritons then hit two free throws setting up Wolford's game-tying shot.
Bennett finished with 15 points while Wolford and
Emily Chapman tallied 10 apiece.
Alli Roh hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds.
