XENIA, Ohio - No. 1 seed Cedarville doubled up No. 8 Lake Erie, but then was shutout by No. 4 Hillsdale on the first day of play in the G-MAC Softball Tournament at the AIA Sports Complex.
The Lady Jackets, 31-17, play No. 2 Findlay in an elimination game on Friday at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
In the opener, CU scored six unanswered runs in the first three innings against Lake Erie and rode the momentum for a 6-3 win.
Sarah Parsons belted a three-run homer to cap a four-run first inning. Starting pitcher
Danielle Wolgamot, 6-1, took it from there. She tossed a complete game with six strikeouts.
Parsons finished with two hits and three RBI's.
Avary Humes doubled and the remaining seven players in the batting order each added a single.
Hillsdale pushed across a run in the fifth inning for the game's only run. The Lady Jackets managed just two hits total - one apiece from
Hannah Lord and
Heather Lord.

- Hannah Lord tacked on two more stolen bases to her team lead of 29. She has nine in her last four games.
