SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Missouri Western and host Illinois Springfield both swept the Lady Jackets in opening the 2018 season at the UIS Capital Classic.

Missouri Western rolled in the first match of the day, 25-17, 25-12, 25-11.

Taylor Wilkerson paced CU with seven kills, three service aces, and 10 digs. Sierra Schuitema added 10 assists.

In the nightcap, the host Prairie Stars came away with a 25-16, 25-19, 25-15 result.

Lauren Willow led the attack with seven kills. Freshman Sara Beste produced six kills and 10 digs while Schuitema totaled 19 assists.
