CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville returned to the Callan Athletic Center to hold off Alderson Broaddus, 80-64, in a G-MAC contest.
The Lady Jackets held on to first place in the league while improving to 13-3 overall and 9-1 G-MAC.
Abby Wolford netted a game-high 20 points with four steals.
Baylee Bennett knocked down four three-pointers and scored 16 points while
Ashlyn Huffman added 11 points with seven assists.
The Battlers surprisingly jumped out to a six-point lead late in the opening quarter, but Cedarville rattled off 17 points in a row to take the lead for good.
AB narrowed the gap to six with 7:30 remaining. However, a 15-5 spurt by the home side sealed the outcome.
Stinger Notes:
- The Lady Jackets had not played a home game since Dec. 8.
- Cedarville made 7-of-13 three-pointers in first quarter.
- Bennett, who leads the country in three-point accuracy, made 4-of-7 from deep.
- Wolford recorded her second 20-point game of the season.
- Huffman's seven assists was her second-highest effort of the season.
- CU has won all 13 games played between the two schools.
- The two teams end the regular season with a rematch in Philippi, W.Va. on March 2.
- Saturday's game time vs. Davis & Elkins has been moved up two hours to 11:00 a.m.
