CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Abby Wolford scored 17 points and the G-MAC leading Lady Jackets remained unbeaten at home with a 69-53 result over Davis & Elkins.
Cedarville, 14-3 overall and 10-1 G-MAC, has won all eight of its games at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Lady Jackets struggled to put away the Senators after building a 17-point cushion in the third quarter.
D&E outscored the hosts 14-4 to open the final period to sneak back within 54-50 with 5:27 left.
Cameron Peek's three-point play sparked a ten-point spurt to put CU back in control.
Wolford added six rebounds, four assists, and two steals to her day.
Baylee Bennett chipped in ten points and
Ashlyn Huffman added four assists.
Stinger Notes:
- In her last four games, Wolford is averaging 15.8 points and 5.5 rebounds while converting 13-of-15 free throws.
- The game tipped off at 11:00 a.m. in an attempt to beat the oncoming winter storm.
- Cedarville was 13-for-13 at the line. The single-game school record is 18-for-18 (Taylor; 3/10/07).
- The Jackets are 39-for-43 (.907) at the charity stripe in the last three games.
- CU holds a 10-2 edge in the all-time series vs. the Senators.
- The two teams meet again in Elkins, W.Va. on Feb. 28.
