WILBERFORCE, Ohio - Cedarville reversed a 20-point deficit in the second half and stunned Central State, 83-75, in overtime in a non-conference game played at Beacom/Lewis Gymnasium.
All five starters scored in double figures for the Yellow Jackets, 2-1, and three had double-doubles.
The Marauders, 1-2, appeared to be in business leading 58-38 with 13:37 left.
Trailing 70-61 with 2:21 to go, CU drilled back-to-back-to-back three-pointers by
Branden Maughmer,
Quinton Green, and
Isaiah Speelman - the last of which coming with three seconds left to force overtime.
The Jackets scored the first seven points of the game in OT which was their first lead of the game.
Kollin Van Horn finished with a career-high 19 points. Maughmer ended up with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Speelman had 15 points and 11 boards, and
Conner TenHove added 14 points and 11 rebounds. Green chipped in 13 points.
Stinger Notes:
- It was Maughmer's second straight double-double.
- Speelman's 11 rebounds was a career high.
- Cedarville produced a 56-34 advantage on the boards.
- The Jackets have won the last six meetings played on the Marauders' home court.
- Central State leads the all-time series, 30-18.
