OWENSBORO, Ky. -
Branden Maughmer scored 22 points and
Quinton Green added 20 as Cedarville remained unbeaten in the G-MAC with an 80-69 victory at Kentucky Wesleyan.
It was the fourth consecutive victory for the Yellow Jackets, 6-4 overall and 4-0 G-MAC.
The Panthers never held the lead at the Sportscenter. CU scored the first eight points of the second period to build a 44-30 advantage.
Kentucky Wesleyan shaved the difference down to three with 3:58 to go, but Green answered with a three-pointer to spark a 13-3 run.
Isaiah Speelman came off the bench with 11 points.
Kollin Van Horn worked the interior for nine points and a game-high ten rebounds.
Stinger Notes:
- The sophomore class of Green, Maughmer, Speelman, and Van Horn combined for 62 points, 21 rebounds, and 12 assists.
- Cedarville was +12 on the boards (37-25).
- The Jackets made at least ten three-pointers (11) for the third straight contest.
- In the three straight G-MAC road wins, CU shot .516 from the field, .461 outside the arc, and .867 at the line.
- KWC leads the all-time series, 10-4, but the Yellow Jackets have won the last three contests.
- It's the only regular season meeting between the two schools.
