FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - NABC Division II No. 5 Nova Southeastern shook off Cedarville in the final minutes for a 91-84 decision at Rick Case Arena.
The Sharks, 7-1, were coming off of their only setback of the campaign when they were the top-ranked team in the country.
The Yellow Jackets, 6-5, had their four-game winning streak snapped.
CU recovered from a 12-point first half deficit for a 39-38 advantage at the break, but Nova took the lead for good midway through the second period.
Conner TenHove's three-point play cut the difference to 69-66 at the 7:35 mark. The Sharks responded with ten straight points in the next three minutes to pull away.
TenHove posted a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Kollin Van Horn netted 18 points,
Branden Maughmer had 16 points with seven assists, and
Isaiah Speelman added 12 points.
Stinger Notes:
- TenHove, who registered his fourth double-double, is 15 points away from 1,000 for his career.
- Speelman is averaging 13 ppg in his last three games with eight triples.
- Maughmer has 32 assists in his last five outings.
- Cedarville outrebounded the Sharks, 46-38, but committed 18 more turnovers.
- The Jackets were 10-for-20 outside the arc - the fourth straight game they've hit at least ten.
- It was first meeting between the two schools since Dec. 16, 1986.
- Nova Southeastern leads the all-time series, 2-1.
