CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Quinton Green scored 24 points featuring multiple key baskets to spark the Yellow Jackets to a 77-69 come-from-behind overtime win against Lake Erie in the G-MAC opener.
Cedarville, 3-4, grabbed the lead for good early in the extra session with Green capping off a 9-2 spurt with a jumper.
The biggest shot by the sophomore guard was the triple he nailed with 9.2 seconds remaining in regulation to forge a 60-60 deadlock - the only occasion in the second half that CU didn't trail.
The Jackets still had to stop the Storm, who missed a wide open look from outside the arc at the buzzer.
Conner TenHove totaled a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds while
Kollin Van Horn had 11 points.
Branden Maughmer hauled in ten rebounds and dished out seven assists.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville's last lead in regulation play was with 11:40 remaining in the first half.
- Lake Erie held the advantage for 32:07 of the contest.
- The Jackets made 9-of-10 free throws in OT and were 22-of-26 (.846) for the game.
- The hosts outrebounded the Storm, 56-37.
- Two teams play agains in Painesville, Ohio on Feb. 15.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series, 9-3.
