Quick start propels Jackets to 18-8 win

ATLANTA, Ga. - Cedarville jumped on Clark Atlanta early and got an impressive showing from starting pitcher Gage Voorhees which resulted in a dominating 18-8 victory.

Voorhees, 2-0, enjoyed an eight-run lead before he even threw a pitch. He responded with five scoreless innings in which he allowed just two hits, struck out eight, and did not walk a batter.

The Yellow Jackets put an eight-spot on the board with their first at bat. The first five batters walked, they received seven free passes total in the frame, and had a couple of RBI singles.

Freshman Austin Brown went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI, four runs scored, and a stolen base.

Alan Perry added three hits including a double and two runs scored for Cedarville, 2-2.

Elijah Sanchez homered for the second straight day as part of his two-hit afternoon with two RBI and two runs scored. Turner White chipped in two hits.
