FINDLAY, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets scored early and then three pitchers combined to hold off Findlay, 3-2, to gain a split of their G-MAC doubleheader and halt a 12-game losing streak.
The host Oilers exploded for a 20-8 victory in the first game.
Freshman
Payton Eeles doubled to lead off the nightcap and extend his hitting streak to 28 consecutive games. He eventually scored on a single by
Elijah Sanchez, who later came around on
Matthew Biermann's RBI double.
Ross Melchior's RBI single in the second inning was the last of Cedarville's six hits in the game.
Starting pitcher
Trace Gillis, 1-5, struck out six through five innings.
Riley Landrum tossed a hitless sixth and
Noah Schleinitz retired the side in order in the seventh for his sixth save.
In the nine-inning opener, Findlay blasted out to an 18-0 lead after five innings. Eeles finished 3-for-5 with two steals, a run scored, and an RBI.
Sanchez,
Connor Culhane, and
Micah Stewart totaled two hits apiece and Melchior drove in two runs.

- Eeles is batting .472 (51-for-108) during his hitting streak with 26 runs scored and 17 stolen bases.
- Melchior's 46 RBI on the season ties for eighth on Cedarville's all-time list.
- Culhane, Eeles, Melchior, Sanchez, and Markus Neff all registered base hits in both games.

- Eeles' three-hit game was his eighth of the season and his 21st multi-hit contest overall.
