CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets ramped up the offense in the second half and defeated Malone for the second time this season, 74-58, in a G-MAC tilt at the Callan Athletic Center.
Cedarville, 15-8 overall and 10-3 G-MAC, extended its winning streak to seven straight by sweeping its five-game homestand.
A defensive tussle in the first half resulted in a 28-25 CU lead at the break.
The hosts didn't break away until midway through the second half when a 12-2 uprising produced a 14-point spread.
Branden Maughmer netted 13 of his game-high 19 points in the final 20 minutes.
Kollin Van Horn finished with 15 points.
Isaiah Speelman (12) and
Jacob Drees (10) both came off the bench with double figure efforts.
Stinger Notes:
- CU was 21-of-31 from the field in the second half for 67.7 percent.
- Conner Ten Hove scored eight points with a game-high eight rebounds.
- Maughmer came away with a season-high four steals.
- Van Horn is averaging 17 ppg in his last three outings.
- Speelman has scored in double figures in five of the last six games.
- The Jackets shot over 50 percent in all five games of the homestand and made 54.6 percent overall.
- Cedarville was 4-for-4 at the free throw line - season lows for FTM and FTA.
- Malone still leads the all-time series, 55-46.
