HAMMOND, Ind. - Cedarville needed a rally and all five sets to overcome Illinois-Springfield on Day 1 of the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament.
The Lady Jackets came out on top 25-21, 16-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-12.
Lauren Willow stepped up to hammer 18 kills with seven blocks for CU, 5-9 overall.
Liene Miller totaled 16 kills and 15 digs while
Riley Hensley contributed 15 kills and five blocks.
Payton Krahn added 14 kills,
Haley Goff matched her career-high with 58 assists, and
Mallory Delamarter led the back line with 21 digs.
Stinger Notes:
- Goff and Krahn each had 13 digs.
- The contest featured 26 tie scores and eight lead changes.
- The Jackets have won two consecutive five-set matches.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series, 4-1.
- The G-MAC went 10-8 as a league on the first day.
