CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville adjusted to Trevecca's deliberate pace and defeated the Trojans, 73-59, in a G-MAC men's basketball contest at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Yellow Jackets survived their fifth game in ten days to improve to 8-5 overall and 8-5 G-MAC.
Branden Maughmer carried the heavy lifting with 18 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
Conner TenHove scored 14 points and
Isaiah Speelman added 11.
The visiting Trojans eased out to a 13-10 lead midway through the first half, but CU responded with 15 consecutive points over the next four-plus minutes.
The difference remained in the 5-to-12 point margin throughout the rest of the contest until the final two minutes.
Stinger Notes:
- Maughmer was 7-for-7 at the free throw line and the team hit 15-of-19.
- Cedarville had the rebounding edge, 38-31.
- Six different Yellow Jackets made a three-pointer.
- The teams combined to hit 13 triples in the first half and just one each in the second.
- Cedarville swept both regular season games and leads the all-time series, 16-7.
- Saturday's game vs. Kentucky Wesleyan is postponed due to COVID protocols within the KWC program.
