CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Malone came out firing with torrid shooting and halted the Yellow Jackets' four-game winning streak, 96-73, at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Pioneers shot .588 from the field, the best performance by a CU opponent this season, and nailed 12-of-20 three-point shots.
The visitors took a 51-39 edge into the halftime locker room after shooting 60 percent in the opening 20 minutes.
Cedarville got back within eight points with 12:40 remaining. However, an 18-8 explosion by Malone in the next four minutes secured the result.
Branden Maughmer scored 18 points for the Yellow Jackets, 10-6 overall and 10-6 G-MAC.
Isaiah Speelman tallied 13 points,
Kollin Van Horn had 12, and
Quinton Green chipped in 11.

- The Yellow Jackets honored graduating seniors Andrew Spurr, Adam Standley, and Andrew Stein before the contest.
- Cedarville was playing its third game in four days.
- The Pioneers controlled the boards, 42-28.
- The all-time series began in the 1958-59 campaign with Malone leading, 58-46.
- CU ends the regular season next week against two NABC Division II nationally ranked opponents.
- The Jackets host No. 23 Findlay on Wednesday and travel to No. 11 Hillsdale on Saturday.
