Malone too hot for Jackets on Senior Day

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Malone came out firing with torrid shooting and halted the Yellow Jackets' four-game winning streak, 96-73, at the Callan Athletic Center.

The Pioneers shot .588 from the field, the best performance by a CU opponent this season, and nailed 12-of-20 three-point shots.

The visitors took a 51-39 edge into the halftime locker room after shooting 60 percent in the opening 20 minutes.

Cedarville got back within eight points with 12:40 remaining. However, an 18-8 explosion by Malone in the next four minutes secured the result.

Branden Maughmer scored 18 points for the Yellow Jackets, 10-6 overall and 10-6 G-MAC.

Isaiah Speelman tallied 13 points, Kollin Van Horn had 12, and Quinton Green chipped in 11.
