XENIA, Ohio - Walsh exploded late in the second game to finish off a sweep of the Yellow Jackets at the Athletes in Action Complex in the G-MAC opener for both sides.
The Cavaliers won by scores of 6-4 and 19-7.
Cedarville put five runs on the board in the first inning of the nightcap and still held a 6-3 lead through four frames of the seven-inning contest.
However, Walsh erupted for seven runs in the fifth and eight more in the sixth to blow it open.
Payton Eeles had three hits and scored twice for Cedarville, 3-5.
Lucas Rotello doubled and drove in two runs.
In the opener,
Austin Brown ripped three hits including a triple. Rotello doubled twice and
Micah Stewart tripled in two runs.
Stinger Notes:
- CU actually outhit the Cavaliers on the day, 20-19.
- Eight different Yellow Jackets posted base hits in the opener.
- Both teams stranded ten runners on base in the first game.
- The Cavaliers totaled eight extra base hits including four home runs.
- The two teams will finish the four-game series with a doubleheader Saturday on campus.
