12-spot sparks Cedarville to big G-MAC win

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets exploded for 12 runs in the sixth inning which carried them to a 14-8 victory at Ohio Dominican in the nightcap of their G-MAC doubleheader.

The hosts checked Cedarville on one hit in the opener, 6-0.

It looked like the Jackets were going down again in the seven-inning second game trailing 6-2 entering the sixth.

The visitors sent 16 batters to the plate and did the damage on just four hits. They took advantage of seven walks, three hit batters, and four wild pitches to score 12 times.

Jacob Clements totaled three hits - two in the sixth inning. He also drove in three runs with two of those coming in the sixth.

Lucas Rotello had two hits with a double and two RBI. Austin Brown added two hits, two steals, and three runs scored.

Payton Eeles came across the plate three times as well for Cedarville, 9-9 overall and 6-4 G-MAC.

Reliever Kevin Zhang, 1-1, got the win as the second of four Yellow jacket pitchers.

In the first game, a third-inning single by Kale Ebling was all the offense CU could muster.

Stinger Notes:
