COLUMBUS, Ohio - It was a pitchers' duel followed by a slugfest and Ohio Dominican zipped up the four-game G-MAC series with Cedarville by taking both contests at Panther Valley.
The hosts won the seven-inning opener, 1-0, and then outlasted the Jackets, 17-14, in the nine-inning nightcap.
ODU pushed across the only run in the third inning of the first game on two hits, a sacrifice bunt, and an RBI groundout.
Blais Hale,
Lucas Rotello, and
Daniel Sewak all singled for Cedarville.
The two teams combined for 31 runs, 32 hits, and 21 left on base in the second encounter.
Five different Yellow Jackets had multi-hit performances led by Rotello, who totaled three hits including a home run with five RBI and three runs scored.
Blais Hale doubled and homered while
Westin Blattner,
Payton Eeles, and
Chase Springmeyer added two hits apiece for CU, 9-11 overall and 6-6 G-MAC.

- Cedarville is 4-3 in one-run decisions.
- Starting pitcher Noah Cline struck out five batters in five innings in the opener.
- The Yellow Jackets stranded 14 runners in the nightcap and left the bases loaded in the ninth inning.
- Seven different pitchers went to the mound for CU in game two.
- Four more Jackets were hit-by-pitch in the series finale.
- Cedarville scored 14 runs in both the second and fourth games, but was shutout in the other two.
- The last 11 games between the two sides have all been played in Columbus.
