TIFFIN, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets nearly erased an 11-run deficit before dropping a 17-16 marathon at Tiffin in the first game of a G-MAC doubleheader.
Cedarville trailed 13-2 after six innings before exploding for eight runs in the seventh and six more in the sixth.
Brandon Doehne and
Blais Hale both homered for Cedarville.
Doehne finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored while Hale totaled two hits, two RBI, and two runs.
Lucas Rotello rapped out three hits, drove in four runs, and scored twice.
Payton Eeles contributed three hits, three runs, and three stolen bases.
The seven-inning second game was halted by darkness after five innings with the Dragons leading, 4-1, and was completed on April 12.
Doehne socked a two-run home run in the seventh inning. Hale and
Daniel Sewak had two hits apeice for the Jackets, 9-13 overall and 6-8 G-MAC.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville scored eight runs in the seventh inning before a batter was retired.
- Kale Ebling and Daniel Sewak tallied two hits each.
- Eight different Yellow Jackets had base hits and all eight scored at least one run.
