Yellow Jackets take two at Hillsdale

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Payton Eeles had a big day at the plate and the pitching staff stepped up again for Cedarville in a G-MAC twinbill sweep at Hillsdale.

The Yellow Jackets rallied for a 9-7 win in ten innings in the first game and then posted an 8-3 victory in game two.

In the opener, CU tied the contest with a run in the ninth inning and then tacked on two more in the tenth.

Eeles had two hits with a double and two RBI. Lucas Rotello hit a two-run home run while Austin Brown and Blais Hale stroked doubles.

Riley Landrum, 2-2, got the win in relief and Reid Hale worked the final frame for his third save.

Eeles smoked three more hits in the second game for the Jackets, 16-16 overall and 13-11 G-MAC. He had two doubles and drove in three runs.

Blais Hale hit a two-run homer with Kale Ebling adding a two-run single.

Noah Schleinitz, 4-2, went the distance on the mound with four strikeouts and did not walk a batter.
