CU takes G-MAC series from Chargers

HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Yellow Jackets pounded three home runs and Noah Cline fired a complete game in a 15-3 romp at Hillsdale in the first game of a G-MAC doubleheader.

The host Chargers salvaged the final game of the series, 14-4.

Austin Brown, Blais Hale, and Lucas Rotello all went deep in the opener. Cline, 3-4, struck out a career-high eight and walked one in his finest performance this spring.

Rotello racked up three hits, four RBI, and scored three times. Payton Eeles contributed three hits, three runs, and two RBI.

Brown and Hale both doubled, and Kale Ebling went 4-for-5.

In the nightcap, Hillsdale hammered four home runs and used a seven-run first inning as a catalyst.

Rotello had three more hits and two RBI. Eeles, Hale, and Jacob Clements all hed two hits each for Cedarville, 17-17 overall and 14-12 G-MAC.

Stinger Notes:
  • CU stroked 29 hits in the doubleheader - ten for extra bases.
  • Eeles is hitting .522 (12-for-23) in the last five games with five doubles and eight RBI.
  • Ebling's four hits in the opener was a career-high.
  • Hale is batting .368 during his 11-game hitting streak with three homers and ten RBI.
  • Rotello, who has seven outings of three or more hits this season, was 6-for-10 with six RBI on the day.
