CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets zipped up the 2021 regular season with a pair of setbacks to G-MAC regular season champion Trevecca, but the highlight was Senior Day two times over.
The visiting Trojans took both ends of the doubleheader 5-3 and 9-5.
Cedarville honored four members of the Class of 2020 prior to the start of the first game, who were not able to experience Senior Day last year due to the onset of the COVID pandemic.
Seven seniors from this year's club were recognized between games.
TNU hung on to win the first game featuring some stellar defensive plays.
Austin Brown slugged a solo home run, had an RBI triple, and scored twice.
The visitors broke up a 3-3 tie in the nightcap with a five-run seventh inning.
Brandon Doehne doubled twice and totaled three RBI for the Jackets, 17-21 overall and 14-16 G-MAC.
Payton Eeles recorded two hits, two steals, and two runs scored.
Blais Hale added a pair of hits and scored twice.
Stinger Notes:
- CU heads to the eight-team G-MAC Tournament in Mason, Ohio as the No. 7 seed.
- Lucas Rotello was the only Yellow Jacket to hit safely in both games.
- Trevecca committed the only error by either team in the series late in the fourth game.
