HIGHLIGHTS
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - NABC Division II No. 9 Hillsdale remained unbeaten with a 72-60 result over cold-shooting Cedarville to begin the G-MAC schedule at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Yellow Jackets, 5-2 overall, struggled all night with one of their best weapons - the three-point shot - finishing 6-for-28.
The Chargers methodically improved to 8-0 by shooting 53 percent from the field overall, hitting 7-of-12 triples, and controlling the boards, 36-31.
Cedarville cut a ten-point second half deficit to 53-52 with 8:35 left, but Hillsdale answered with a 14-3 run to regain control.
Jacob Drees and
Jayvon Maughmer tallied 19 points apiece for the Jackets.
Stinger Notes:
- Chris Rogers dished out four assists.
- CU entered the game averaging 11.5 three-pointers made per game shooting .345 from deep.
- It was the first loss in five home games this season.
- A Thursday night crowd of 1,042 turned out.
- The Chargers are 13-1 all-time vs. Cedarville.
- The teams play again at Hillsdale on January 26.
