CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Grant Whisman scored 21 points and
Jacob Drees posted his fourth double-double as the Yellow Jackets overpowered Ohio Christian, 98-68, in a non-conference game at the Callan Athletic Center.
Drees finished with 17 points, a career-high 12 rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots for Cedarville, 8-3.
Kyle Thomas chipped in 12 points and
Timothy Davis tallied a career-high 11.
The hosts were slow coming out of the blocks and trailed 25-22 with 8:05 left in the first period.
A seven-point run gave the Jackets the lead for good and a 16-2 spurt to finish the half made it 47-31 at the intermission.
Stinger Notes:
- Drees has handed out five assists four times this year including the last two games.
- Whisman has back-to-back 20-point games and three total this winter.
- CU made 11 three-pointers - the eighth game with at least ten triples.
- The Jackets forced 19 turnovers and committed a season-low seven.
- Cedarville controlled the boards 40-33 and converted 15-of-18 free throws.
- The Yellow Jackets have won all ten meetings between the two schools.
- Ohio Christian played the contest as an exhibition game.
