UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Cedarville University finished in a best-ever seventh place in the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championship at Chambers Creek Regional Park.
The previous top finish for the Lady Jackets was 11th place accomplished in both of their previous appearances in 2016 and 2021.
Sophomore
Savannah Ackley led the squad in 41st place covering the 6,000 meters in 21:24.9 which is the best individual showing in school history.
Hannah Rhem placed 50th (21:31.1) and
Naomi Herman came in 57th (21:34.6).
The remainder of the Cedarville lineup included
Bethany Sholl (80th; 21:50.3),
Alayna Ackley (93rd; 21:59.0),
Remington Hobson (120th; 22:15.0), and
Audrianna Enns (154th; 22:42.6).
There were a total of 263 competitors who began the race and all but one completed it. The Top 40 finishers are recognized as All-Americans.
Adams State won the team title with 75 points while Grand Valley State was the runner-up with 126.
The rest of the top seven featured Colorado School of Mines (164 points), UC-Colorado Springs (184) Augustana (218), CSU-Pueblo (240), and Cedarville (271).
