PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -
Alan Perry belted a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift Cedarville over Fairmont State, 9-5, to wrap up the Peachtree City Classic.
Earlier in the day, Alabama-Huntsville outslugged the Yellow Jackets, 13-10.
Perry's winner came on an 0-2 pitch with two outs. It was his second home run of the four-game weekend and the team's 11th overall.
Payton Eeles had two hits and scored three times while
Austin Brown and
Kaden Shook added two hits apiece.
Reid Hale struck out six over the final three innings to get the win.
UAH took over the morning contest with a five-run seventh inning to outlast the Yellow Jackets.
The two teams combined for 23 runs and 28 hits featuring five doubles and five home runs.
Bryce Hughes went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Brown,
Blais Hale, and
Lucas Rotello all went deep for CU, 3-1.
Stinger Notes:
- Perry and Rotello both racked up 10 runs batted in for the weekend.
- Sam Punzi batted .571 with three doubles, a triple, two homers, and eight RBI.
- CU pitchers fanned 44 batters in 32 innings compared to 21 walks.
- The defense committed just two errors total in the four games.
- The Yellow Jackets' team batting average was .379 coupled with a 4.78 ERA from the pitching staff.
