HARROGATE, Tenn. - Lincoln Memorial broke open a tight game with a big seventh inning to defeat the Yellow Jackets, 7-1, at chilly Lamar Hennon Field.
The Railsplitters scored five times on five hits with a pair of walks in the frame.
Sam Punzi belted a solo home run with one out in the sixth to cut the deficit to 2-1 for the Yellow Jackets, 3-2.
Payton Eeles went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles to lead the visitors at the plate.
Kale Ebling added two hits including a double while
Lucas Rotello also doubled.
Stinger Notes:
- The Yellow Jacket defense turned a pair of double plays.
- CU stranded nine runners on base and Lincoln Memorial left 13.
- Of the Railsplitters 15 hits, 14 were singles.
- The game was played in temperatures hovering in the low 30's.
- Eeles, Punzi, Rotello, and Austin Brown have hit safely in all five games.
- Saturday's twinbill is set for a nine-inning opener and seven-inning second game.
