Cedarville takes two from Storm

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Kale Ebling tallied three hits and three teammates added two each as the Yellow Jackets beat Lake Erie, 15-6, to complete a sweep of a G-MAC doubleheader.

Cedarville, who played as the visitor in both games, held on for a 6-4 win in game one.

Ebling went 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Jackets, 21-20 overall and 15-10 G-MAC.

Chase Springmeyer totaled a pair of hits and scored three times. Bryce Hughes and Lucas Rotello added two hits each while Austin Brown drove in three runs.

Kevin Zhang, 2-1, tossed the final five innings in relief with six strikeouts.

Blais Hale racked up three hits including a double and four RBI to spark the offense in the opener.

Brown and Caleb McKinion had two hits each. Starting pitcher Noah Cline, 4-5, went five innings and struck out seven.

Reid Hale struck out three in the ninth while nailing down his sixth save.

Stinger Notes:
  • Eeles extended his hitting streak to 14 and has reached base safely in all 41 games.
  • The Jackets had 11 hits in both contests and took advantage of 16 walks.
  • No less than 15 batters combined were hit-by-pitch in the doubleheader.
  • CU was plunked ten times - seven in game two alone.
  • The Jackets played as the visiting team since Lake Erie's home stadium was unavailable. The Storm use Classic Park, home of the Class A Lake County Captains.
