MASON, Ohio - No. 2 seed Ashland tallied 11 unanswered runs to outscore No. 5 Cedarville, 13-6, in the opening round of the G-MAC Baseball Championship at Legacy Field.
The Yellow Jackets face No. 1 Tiffin in an elimination game on Thursday at Prasco Park beginning at noon EDT. [

CU took a 6-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning when things unraveled.
The Eagles scored three runs in the sixth, five in the seventh, and three more in the eighth to blow it open.
Lucas Rotello got the Yellow Jackets on the board first with a solo home run in the fourth inning.
Cedarville enjoyed a five-run sixth on an RBI single by
Blais Hale, a two-run single off the bat of
Sam Punzi, an RBI double from
Alan Perry, and an RBI groundout by
Chase Springmeyer.
Perry finished with two doubles and a triple. Hale and Rotello totaled two hits apiece for the Yellow Jackets, 21-25.
Stinger Notes:
- Starting pitcher Tanner Gillis allowed just two earned runs in five innings.
- Perry's triple was the second of his career and he's reached base in 26 straight games.
- Rotello's home run was the team's 52nd of the campaign.
- Payton Eeles had a hit, a run, and a steal having reached base in all 46 games this spring.
- Three Yellow Jackets were hit by pitch.
- Ashland turned three double plays.
- Tiffin was upset by No. 6 Walsh, 4-3 in 10 innings, in the first game of the day.
- In the late game, No. 4 Kentucky Wesleyan buried defending champ and No. 3 Trevecca, 14-2.
