MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Lady Jackets finished the Northern Michigan Open with a 2-2 mark after falling to Upper Iowa and Central Oklahoma.
Upper Iowa pinned a 25-21, 25-17, 21-25, 25-19 setback on Cedarville.
Central Oklahoma won in straight sets, 25-15, 25-21, 25-20.
Haley Koch and
Cassi Shields had eight kills apiece against UIU while
Hannah Willow added seven.
Rookie setter
Kaley Matney totaled 35 assists and 13 digs while
Cam Davenport turned aside three blocks.
It was all Central Oklahoma in the finale despite 12 kills from Davenport.
Riley Hensley had three blocks and Matney added 13 assists.
Stinger Notes:
- It was the first-ever meeting for CU against both schools.
- Davenport averaged team-highs of 2.71 kills and 2.59 digs for the weekend.
- Koch attacked at a .483 accuracy in the four matches.
- Matney supplied 7.94 assists and 2.47 digs.
- Cedarville hosts the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
