HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Yellow Jackets' furious comeback fell short in a 79-70 loss at NABC Division II No. 11 and G-MAC leader Hillsdale.
Freshman guard
Ethan Sellars came off the bench with a career-high 17 points.
Jayvon Maughmer netted 15 and
Jacob Drees had 13.
Cedarville, 13-6 overall and 6-5 G-MAC, scored nearly half of its points in the final five-plus minutes after falling behind by 23 points.
A 26-11 explosion pulled the visitors within 75-67 in the final minute.
The Chargers, 18-2 and 11-2 G-MAC, sealed the result by going 4-for-4 at the line.
Stinger Notes:
- Sellars' previous career-high was 16 points at Lewis.
- The Jackets made 8-of-16 three-pointers in the second half.
- It was the 15th time this season that Cedarville has made at least ten triples.
- The team's seven assists was a season-low while matching the season-low in turnovers (7).
- The Chargers outscored CU 26-9 at the free throw line.
- Hillsdale swept both regular season games to improve its margin in the all-time series to 14-1.
