XENIA, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets awarded Head Coach
Matt Richter his first two career victories by taking both games of a doubleheader from Saginaw Valley State.
Cedarville won the non-conference twinbill by scores of 7-3 and 11-9 at the Athletes in Action Sports Complex.
In the nightcap,
Caleb McKinion belted a three-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning to account for the final.
Winning pitcher
Reid Hale struck out six in the final 2 2/3 innings of relief for the Jackets, 2-4 overall.
Blais Hale totaled two hits, two runs, and three stolen bases while
Kaden Shook added two hits and two steals.
Kale Ebling tripled in two runs,
Micah Stewart doubled, and
Daniel Sewak scored twice.
First game starter
Ethan Milburn tossed six strong innings allowing one unearned run with eight strikeouts.
Connor Legere fanned three more in the final three frames.
Kale Ebling tripled, homered and scored twice while
Seth Hale hammered a solo shot.
Lucas Rotello added a two-run triple.
Stinger Notes:
- The pitching staff combined for 26 strikeouts and just six walks.
- The Yellow Jackets stole ten bases on the day.
- There were four lead changes in the second game.
- Ebling had two triples, a home run, four runs scored, and three RBI in the twinbill.
- McKinion's home run was the first of his career.
