NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Jayvon Maughmer and
Grant Whisman scored 20 points each to guide Cedarville to a 84-55 victory over Trevecca at the Trojan Fieldhouse.
It was the fourth win in a row including three in five days for the Yellow Jackets, 17-6 overall and 10-5 G-MAC.
The visitors trailed 16-14 midway through the first half and responded by exploding on a 20-2 run to take command.
CU enjoyed a 40-20 margin by the intermission and then netted the first four points of the second half.
Jacob Drees totaled 13 rebounds and four assists while
Kyle Thomas came off the bench to hit three treys for nine points.
Stinger Notes:
- Chris Rogers, who transferred to Cedarville after earning his bachelor's degree at TNU, had eight points and four assists.
- The +20 rebound margin (48-28) was a season high.
- All 13 players saw action and 11 scored.
- The 15 three-point baskets matched the third-highest total during the campaign.
- Eight different players made a shot from behind the arc.
- Five turnovers by the team is the fewest this season.
- It's the only meeting this winter between the two schools with CU leading the all-time series, 18-8.
