Panthers take back-to-back slugfests from Cedarville

OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Yellow Jackets pounded seven homers and totaled 22 runs, but it wasn't enough as Kentucky Wesleyan swept a G-MAC doubleheader at Panther Park.

The hosts claimed both games 17-13 and 13-9.

Cedarville unloaded five bombs and racked up 18 hits in the opener.

Nine different Yellow Jackets registered base hits, six had at least two, plus Alan Perry, Lucas Rotello, and Daniel Sewak each had three hits.

Perry drilled a three-run homer and Kale Ebling followed with a solo shot in the second inning.

Rotello, Seth Hale, and Caleb McKinion also went deep.

In the second contest, KWC scored six times in the first inning in building a 7-0 lead.

The Jackets got within 9-8 before the Panthers scored four times in the fifth.

Blais Hale hit a three-run homer and Perry hammered his second of the day.

Ebling tallied three hits for Cedarville, 10-29 overall and 5-17 G-MAC.
