SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Summer Swartwout made her collegiate debut by winning two events to lead Cedarville at the Wittenberg Opener.
The freshman sprinter from Cincinnati won the 60 meter dash in a school-record tying 7.57 seconds which met the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard.
She then took first place in the 200 in 24.82 seconds. That mark as well as her 60 meter prelim time of 7.58 both rank third all-time at CU.
Sydney Diedrich was victorious in the 800 meters in 2:16.84.
She was joined by
Jessica Ferguson,
Mallory Gasper, and Angela Williams for a win in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3:58.66.
Williams led the Jackets' performance in the field events by winning the long jump with a mark of 18-2.50 (5.55 meters).
Her effort ranks fourth on Cedarville's all-time list and it was the program's longest jump in 17 years.
Emma Bailey finished first in the shot put with a heave of 40-7.50 (12.38m).
