NCAA STORY
CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Cedarville University has earned the NCAA Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence for the 13th consecutive year, one of just 43 Division II institutions to receive the honor in 2025.
The award recognizes athletics programs that achieve a four-year Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90 percent or higher. Cedarville posted a 91 percent ASR, joining Hillsdale College as the only Great Midwest Athletic Conference members to be recognized.
"Cedarville's continued academic excellence within its athletics program certainly testifies to the academic ability of our athletes," said Dr. Randy McKinion, Faculty Athletic Representative.
"But it also speaks to the ongoing cooperation between the faculty who support these athletes and the athletic administration and coaches who ensure that our student-athletes remain focused on the classroom. Cedarville student-athletes continue to glorify God by competing in their sport with great success and pursuing their academic preparation with excellence."
The ASR measures the percentage of student-athletes who graduate within six years of initial enrollment and includes virtually all Division II student-athletes.
Chris Cross, Vice President for Athletics, noted the significance of maintaining such consistent academic performance.
"On behalf of Cedarville Athletics, I couldn't be prouder," Cross said. "Earning the NCAA Presidents' Award for the 13th straight year is a tribute to our student-athletes, coaches, and faculty who refuse to accept anything less than excellence - in the classroom or on the field.
"This milestone underscores our commitment to developing well-rounded champions who graduate ready to make a difference. The consistency speaks volumes: at Cedarville, academic success isn't the exception - it's the standard."
