COSTA MESA, Calif. - Vanguard completed a three-game series sweep of Cedarville by taking both games of a doubleheader at Dean Harvey Field.
The Lions rallied to win the opener 10-9 in ten innings and then came away with a 4-1 decision in the seven-inning nightcap.
The Yellow Jackets allowed an 8-1 lead to get away from them in the first game.
Vanguard scored three runs in the fifth and tied it with four in the eighth.
CU regained the lead in the tenth when
Brendan Colley doubled home
Caleb McKinion.
The hosts pulled it out in the bottom half on a single, a walk, and three hit batters.
Riley Finkelston went 4-for-5 with a run and an RBI.
Cooper Martin had two hits with a double and two RBI.
McKinion scored three times,
Grayson Weikel added two hits, and
Kaden Wilde drove in two runs.
Martin had two hits in the second game and scored the Jackets lone run in the seventh on an RBI infield single by McKinion.
