Ashland outlasts Cedarville in G-MAC series opener

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ashland scored three runs in the eighth inning and held on to edge the Yellow Jackets, 11-10, in a G-MAC contest.

The two teams continue their four-game series with a doubleheader on Friday.

Cedarville erased a three-run deficit by scoring five unearned runs in the seventh inning for a 10-8 lead.

Cooper Martin had a two-run single while Chris Montes de Oca and Riley Finkelston added RBI singles to put the Jackets on top.

The Eagles plated three runs with two out in the eighth to regain the lead the for good.

Kaden Wilde went 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI for Cedarville, 11-14 overall and 4-5 G-MAC.

Montes de Oca totaled two hits, two runs, and two RBI.

Riley Finkelston singled twice with Eli Henderson and Danny DeMoss scoring two runs apiece.
