WILSON, N.C. - Cedarville racked up 31 runs on 30 hits in defeating Glenville State and Chestnut Hill at Fleming Stadium.
The Yellow Jackets outslugged Glenville State, 14-12, in the first game of the trip.
The winners escaped a mess in the ninth inning when the Pioneers scored eight times and had the bases loaded with one out.
Reliever
Jordan Geiger threw one pitch resulting in a game-ending double play ball to get the save.
Brendan Colley went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Eli Henderson and
Kaden Shook had two hits each while
Cooper Martin added a three-run triple.
Starting pitcher
Ford Duesing, 2-0, tossed six innings and struck out seven.
Cedarville pounded Chestnut Hill, 17-5, in the nightcap to improve to 6-8 overall.
Four different Jackets posted three hits each led by
Micah George who was a single short of the cycle. He doubled, tripled, homered, drove in two runs, and scored four times.
Henderson, Martin, and
Chris Montes de Oca all contributed three hits apiece.
Winning pitcher
Coen Ball, 1-1, worked the first five innings with six strikeouts to get his first collegiate win.
Sam Formus finished up with four scoreless innings and was credited with a save.
